This year we launched our breast cancer fundraising campaign, “Dare2Tutu“. Not only was it extremely fun, it was extremely successful! We stand in gratitude for all of those that participated; whether it was creating a personal fundraiser, sending a donation or posing in a tutu. Thank you for your support of The Carey Foundation!
Announcing the Dare2Tutu Winners
The first winner is an extraordinary and talented young woman who stole our hearts. Priyana’s will be donating her prize–a trip for two to New York City–to someone living with breast cancer!
Our second winner is someone who volunteers, most often at the last minute, when Linda needs “urgent” help. Melinda, thank you! We’re delighted to send you a limited edition, signed copy of Ballerina, a collection of three signed photo prints and a signed calendar.
The next winner, Shelly, is not someone we know personally but understand that she has experienced a profound challenge this year. Shelly–we extend an enormous thank you–and are so happy to send a collection of three signed photo prints and a signed calendar for your contribution!
The contest is over but the fun and fundraising continues year-round! Keep posing in your tutu, and post to social media using the hashtag, #Dare2Tutu. We love to surprise our fans with fun “thank you’s” throughout the year!
Linda Carey is the co-creator of The Tutu Project and President of the Carey Foundation. Bob and Linda Carey have been together since 1986. When Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, Bob decided to expand on an odd project he’d started: he’d taken a few pictures of himself in a pink tutu, and the unlikely images cheered Linda up and gave both of them something to focus on other than her diagnosis. Linda’s positive approach to living has become a beacon of hope for cancer patients across the world.
