The Carey Foundation has announced a new initiative that will delivery 1,200+ cancer patients a Tutu Project Calendar. The “Packages of Love” program will deliver our amazing calendar (yes, we do think it’s awesome!) into the hands of the many men and women that need our support at cancer center across America. It is intended to fulfill our promise to help lighten somebody’s day as they get through breast cancer treatment.
Individuals that donate are helping the Foundation cover postage fees ($10 donation or higher), or they can donate an entire bundle ($325). We will ship a “Package of Love” – twenty calendars – to a cancer center in the Unites States. Read More >>>

I would love for the Porter Cancer Care Center in Denver, CO to receive a calendar . The are such caring people, they made my journey a better one for their involvement.
I’d love the cancer center at Valley Hospital, in the Luckow Pavillion in Paramus, NJ to receive one. Although I did not receive my treatment there, I had to go to them every Monday for 6 months to have my PICC line flushed and new sterile dressings. It didn’t matter that I wasn’t receiving my treatment there, they still watched out for me and always asked how I was doing. They made me feel welcome and even offered suggestions/tips on dealing with the side effects of my chemo. It always made me laugh when they brought over their Computer On Wheels, COW. They named their computers, Elsie, Bessie, etc. names you’d think of with cows. Wonderful nurses with upbeat attitudes!
I had my radiation treatments after my breast cancer surgery at Alexian Brothers Cancer Institute in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. I went in full of fear and lots of questions and I came out with hope and a new group of supporters. No one rushed through ANYTHING with me. I felt compassion and well cared for. I would recommend them to anyone who needs radiation care.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in Fall 2013. She scheduled surgery the same day she buried a friend who battled breast cancer for twenty years. After a double mastectomy, she met with an oncologist who gave no hope for successful treatment even though her cancer was stage 2B. We were devastated. Later that week and while on my commute to work, I was listening to a wnpr. The discussion was centered on an oncologist’s success with minimizing chemotherapy side effects. They were interviewing this doctor, Dr. Jame Abraham. At the end of the segment, Dr. Abraham’s credentials were given. His cancer focus was my mom’s exact diagnosis. Days later and seven hours away from home, we were sitting at WVU talking to Dr. Abraham. He was as positive and reassuring as the previous oncologist was hopeless. It is 2015, my mom is cancer free. Dr. Abraham has since taken a position with the Cleveland Clinic, but WVU and its staff will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

I am nominating the Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center in Savannah, Tennessee. Funding for its development was raised by the Darryl Worley Foundation as a way to give back to the community. Savannah is in rural west Tennessee where cancer patients would historically have to travel out of town to find treatment. Because of Darryl’s hard work and generosity, patients can get the treatment they need locally and not have to spend time and expense traveling out of town.

Ironwood Cancer and Research- I went to the Arbor location in Mesa AZ….excellent people, excellent doctors, excellent place. My doctor has since changed locations and I have been to a couple of others to see him for my annual check-up appointments…excellent service and care!!

Cancer Treatment Centers of America – Phoenix! I am just starting treatment there on Monday and when I was there for my Treatment Plan.. I could not believe how amazing EVERYBODY was! I would like to nominate Rocky Mountain Oncology in Casper Wyoming. I have been diagnosed with 4 different cancers since winter of 2005 . I panicked when I heard I had cancer and new I had an instant death sentence , and these people thru their caring and understanding made me realize there is hope. I would like to nominate NY Oncology Hematology in Troy, NY to receive calendars. I have been battling breast cancer since 1999 diagnosed at 40 years old. I was treated by a wonderful oncologist at the Latham office of this practice, Dr. Janet Gargalio until she retired when I was rediagnosed on the other side in 2009. I was then recommended by her to see Dr. Regina Resta in their Troy facility. She has been wonderful, caring as well as all the nurses and staff there because I was diagnosed at the end of 2012 with metastic breast cancer in my liver. It didn’t look good at the time, but Dr. Resta was determined to find something that would work for me and she did because I just celebrated my 57th birthday this week, 2 1/2 years later. I am stable, still get meds every 3 weeks so I see their wonderful medical team all the time. They have given me hope and a quality of life which needs to be filled with laughter and happiness.
