The Tutu Project awarded grants based on a non-profit organization’s alignment with the program’s mission, which is to provide financial support and counseling, helping to relieve the financial and emotional burdens that come with breast cancer diagnoses. While we do not distribute funding directly to patients, we have high expectations for all of our partners. Breast cancer patients can contact them directly to find out how to get help with their current financial or emotional needs.
The 2016 recipients include CancerCare, a national service that offers counseling, education and financial assistance, and For 3 Sisters, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and improving the quality of life for women and men affected by breast cancer. Donations will also go to fly-fishing retreat Casting for Recovery and professional house-cleaning service Cleaning for a Reason. Other services receiving donations include; StringsForACure, Jill’s Wish, Yoga4Cancer, The Breast Cancer Fundraiser, Seymour Pink, Cancerland, and Pink Daisy Project.
